Frieda Looser has an MA (Hons) in history and is the author of Fendall's Legacy, a history of Fendalton and Northwest Christchurch. She was a Senior Tutor in the History Department at the University of Canterbury, tutoring and lecturing in a number of courses, and currently teaches in the University's Academic Skills Centre. Frieda was a regular contributor to the UC Community Education programme from 1998 to 2012, offering a wide range of courses exploring European as well as local Canterbury history, and is a popular guest speaker at U3A, Probus, Rotary, WEA, Family History, and many other community groups in Canterbury. Frieda led five UC study tours to Britain from 2006 to 2010, and FLHLtd study tours to Western Scotland in September-October 2013, and to Normandy and Brittany in June 2014..
Frieda is leading a study tour to Ireland in June - July 2015 and currently enrolling travelling companions, and calling for expressions of interest for a planned study tour to Spain in June-July 2016..
